Stories: SF Police Arrest Dozens in Dolores Park ‘Hill Bomb’

Officers and neighborhood members shared shock, outrage and umbrage Sunday within the wake of arrests of a number of teenagers and younger adults Saturday evening close to Dolores Park.

In accordance with Mission Native, officers blocked off a number of intersections close to the park and kettled a number of teams of individuals, a few of whom have been making an attempt to take part in or observe an annual casual skate run alongside and down the road’s steep slope.

On Sunday morning, San Francisco Supervisor Dean Preston expressed his displeasure at police’s response to the incident, calling it an “abuse of energy, waste of cash, and trauma inflicted on our younger folks.”

“I’m ashamed of our Metropolis management for such a militarization of our streets and assault on our youth,” Preston stated partly. “Folks deserve solutions.”

San Francisco police didn’t reply to requests for remark by publication time.
